# How To Prepare a Diagnostic Report With BetterShield?

Generate and copy a BetterShield setup report that excludes addresses, account names, network addresses, and keys.

In **[BetterShield](/)**, open **BetterShield › Settings › General › Privacy & sharing › Report a problem**.

## What it does

**Prepare the report** describes the BetterShield and WordPress setup needed for diagnosis. It leaves out the site address, email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, credentials, and keys. **What is left out of it** lists the exclusions. Nothing is transmitted when the report is prepared.

## Step 1: Prepare a Diagnostic Report

Select **Prepare the report**, read the generated output, then select **Copy the report**. Paste it into a request on [BetterShield support](/support/) only when you choose to send it.

## Recommended settings

Review the copied text before sharing it. Add the exact error, time, and steps that produced the problem separately.

## What it can break and how to undo

Preparing and copying are read-only. The copied text remains in the device clipboard until another copy replaces it. Clear the clipboard if the device is shared.

## Final Outcome

The report should appear below the row and copy without including the site's address, account names, network addresses, or secret values.
