# How To Put a Settings Change Back With BetterShield?

Review recent BetterShield setting saves and restore the value that one supported change replaced.

In **[BetterShield](/)**, open **BetterShield › Settings › General › Plugin data & tools › Put a settings change back**.

## What it does

The list records supported settings saves with who made the change and when. **Undo** restores the value that particular save replaced. Imports create separate history entries for their individual setting changes.

This is settings history, not a universal rollback. Credentials, sent messages, deleted external data, expired confirmations, recovery secrets, and other irreversible effects are not recreated.

## Step 1: Put a Settings Change Back

No setup is needed. Make a supported settings change, open the history, read the matching row, and review the before and after values. Select **Undo** for that change.

</figure>

## Recommended settings

Restore one setting at a time and verify the affected feature before restoring another. Prefer the newest relevant row so later intentional edits are not obscured.

## What it can break and how to undo

Restoring an earlier value can re-enable or disable behavior administrators changed deliberately. If the restoration is wrong, use the new history row it creates or save the desired current value directly.

## Final Outcome

After **Undo**, the setting's own screen should show the earlier value and Activity should contain the restoration.
