BetterShield is a WPDeveloper product from the Startise family. This policy explains how WPDeveloper (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and shares information when you use bettershield.ai, BetterShield Hub and the BetterShield plugins (together, the “Service”).
Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, your email address and the workspaces you belong to.
- Information about the sites you connect, such as security reports, uptime results and the details the BetterShield plugin shares with the Hub.
- Activity, such as changes made through the Hub and actions taken by AI assistants you connect.
- Technical information, such as your browser, your device and your approximate network location, which we use to keep your account secure.
The BetterShield plugins keep their data on your own site. They contact outside services only as each plugin’s readme describes under “External services”.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, secure and improve the Service, to communicate with you, to prevent abuse, and to comply with the law.
How we share information
We don’t sell your personal information. We may share information:
- with service providers that help us run the Service, such as hosting, database and email providers;
- with AI assistants you choose to connect, as you direct;
- to comply with the law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of WPDeveloper, our users or others;
- as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of our business.
Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where we or our providers operate.
Cookies
The Hub uses cookies to sign you in and keep your account secure. We don’t use advertising cookies.
How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as your account is active, or as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to meet legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Your choices
You can view, download, correct or delete your information in the Hub under Settings › Account, or by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Service isn’t directed to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy at any time. When we do, we’ll revise the date at the top. Your continued use of the Service means you accept the updated policy.
