How To Record What Agents Do On This Site With BetterShield?

2 min read

Choose whether BetterShield records ability calls from every plugin, including refused calls, in Agent activity.

In BetterShield, the recording switch is under BetterShield › Agents › Permissions › Recording agent activity.

What it does

Record what agents do on this site records every invocation of an ability registered by any plugin, including calls that were refused. The row keeps the ability, route, outcome, and an input digest. It never stores the input contents. The feature requires WordPress 7.1 or newer.

Step 1: Record What Agents Do On This Site

Leave the switch on, which is the default. Use What assistants did or open Activity › Agent activity to review the rows.

Record what agents do on this site setting with the switch on.
Recording is on by default and is separate from read and change access.

Keep recording on whenever agent abilities are registered, even when read or change access is currently off. Refused calls can be useful evidence.

What it can break and how to undo

Recording adds rows to BetterShield’s separate agent-activity table. Turn the switch off to stop new rows. Existing rows remain until retention removes them.

Final Outcome

Make one permitted read call and one deliberately refused call in a test connection. Both should appear with different outcomes and no input contents.

On multisite

Recording is configured per site. Each site’s rows belong to that site.

This is how you can record what agents do on this site with BetterShield.
