How To Confirm a Moved Site or Staging Copy With BetterShield?

2 min read

Respond when BetterShield sees a changed site address and confirm whether the current copy is live, staging, or moved.

After a migration, domain change, or copied database, BetterShield can show a site-address card above the Overview score.

What it does

The card compares the address BetterShield knew with the current WordPress address. It asks whether this is the moved live site or another environment, so records and scheduled work are interpreted in the right context.

Step 1: Confirm a Moved Site or Staging Copy

Open BetterShield › Overview after moving or copying the site. Read both addresses and choose the answer that matches the current installation. For a development or staging copy, also set WordPress’s environment type correctly in configuration.

Confirm the environment before enabling alerts, connections, or scheduled actions on a copy. Check both WordPress Address and Site Address under WordPress General settings.

What it can break and how to undo

Choosing the wrong identity can make the copy behave like the live site or leave moved-site records unconfirmed. Reopen the environment controls in BetterShield settings, or restore the correct WordPress addresses, then review scheduled tasks and alerts.

Final Outcome

The notice should close after the address and environment are confirmed. The next audit should describe the current site rather than the old location.
