Use BetterShield Ultra to challenge every visitor at Cloudflare temporarily, then restore the zone’s previous security level.
Note: These controls require the paid BetterShield Ultra add-on alongside the free BetterShield plugin.
What it does
Challenge every visitor sets the connected Cloudflare zone to its highest security level. Every visitor sees a short Cloudflare check before the page loads.
Step 1: Open the feature
Step 2: Raise the Cloudflare security level
- Open BetterShield › Ultra › Cloudflare.
- Under Challenge every visitor, press Raise the level and confirm.
The control is off by default. After Ultra applies it, the card reads Raised from here. Press Put the level back to restore the security level that was present before this control changed it.
Recommended settings
Use this temporarily when you need every request checked at Cloudflare. Plan a short window and verify sign-in, checkout and other important journeys before leaving it on.
What it can break and how to undo
The extra check delays every visitor and can interrupt automated services or checkout flows. Press Put the level back to restore the previous zone setting. If the dashboard is unavailable, change the security level directly in Cloudflare.
Final Outcome
The control reads Raised from here. Open the site in a private browser to confirm Cloudflare shows its check. The activity log records the zone change and its restoration.
On multisite
Only a network administrator can use this control. Sites on the same Cloudflare zone share the zone-level effect.
