How To Record Previous Values and Respond to Changes With BetterShield?
Capture supported earlier values, review a recorded change, put it back, or suspend a newly created administrator.
In BetterShield, open Previous values and reversible responses above the Site activity list.
What it does
Record supported previous values is off by default. It can keep the earlier default role, registration setting, administration email, WordPress address, role capabilities, plugin activation state, or newly created administrator. It holds up to 1,000 captures, with limits of 20 per request and 100 per hour.
Supported rows gain Review change, showing Before the recorded change, After the recorded change, and Current value. Put this back restores the supported earlier value or deactivates the plugin. Suspend this account blocks a new administrator without deleting it. Undo this response reverses either response while the target remains unchanged.
Step 1: Record Previous Values and Respond to Changes
Tick Record supported previous values and select Save capture preference. A working recovery method is required for responses, and safe mode must be off.
Recommended settings
Enable capture on sites where administrators need rapid, evidence-based response. Treat captured email addresses as personal data.
What it can break and how to undo
A restoration changes live configuration. BetterShield refuses to overwrite a later edit and never restores the WordPress address automatically. Use Undo this response while the target is still unchanged.
Final Outcome
Make a safe supported test change, open its activity row, and confirm all three values appear.
